Our event has the potential of being a showstopper, but that potential depends a lot on the willingness of the Murray County Community to show up and show out.  If the idea of helping out with a Spooky event sounds fun, please view the list below and let us know where you could lend a hand.  In exchange for as little as 2 hours of volunteer services, we can arrange for you to have a discount on a booth, or to be listed as a sponsor.

 

Here are some of the volunteer opportunities currently available for Murray’s Monster Bash:

1. Costumed Character: Greet visitors near the park entrance while dressed as a friendly Halloween character, such as a skeleton, vampire, Frankenstein’s monster, or ghost. Volunteers may also pose for photos with guests.
2. Event Runner: Remain near the information booth and assist wherever needed. Duties may include responding to vendor requests, helping visitors with information, checking restroom supplies and cleanliness, assisting with Ghost Train lines and loading, or handling other general event needs.
3. Costumed Character Assistant:  Stay at festival entrance with costumed character(s), help organize line for visitors waiting for photos, and take pictures of visitors with the characters using their cell phone.
4. Festival Setup: Help decorate the park on the morning of October 2. Duties may include lifting and positioning large props, climbing ladders to hang banners, and making sure decorations are properly secured.
5. Festival Breakdown:     Help remove decor and props after the festival and offer general park clean up.  

Booth Credit for Assistance

Volunteers who help in any capacity will earn the equivalent of $15.00/hr in Booth credit.

• Five completed hours would qualify for a $75 booth refund.
• Volunteers may contribute more than five hours if they wish, but no additional booth credit or monetary compensation will be provided.
• We cannot yet guarantee the number of hours assistance will be needed from any single individual.
• The number of available hours and specific assignments will be confirmed closer to the festival.
• Setup work may involve lifting, carrying, moving large decorations, securing props, and using ladders to hang banners.

Because unexpected circumstances could prevent a volunteer from offering assistance as agreed, the full booth fee must still be paid in advance to reserve the space. After the volunteer offers assistance, the appropriate amount will be refunded based on the number of completed hours.

Sponsorship Credit

Volunteers who offer at least two hours of assistance to help in any capacity with the festival will have their business logo placed on the front page of this website as a sponsor.  Because things can unexpectedly change which would prevent volunteer services from being completed after an arrangement is made, those who wish to trade volunteer hours for logo placement must first pay $30.00 for logo placement, which will be refunded once the volunteer work is complete.

Please note that booth credit or logo placement  are the only trade deals offered. Volunteer work will not be compensated with cash wages.
